The most effective minigun build on haz 5 is ironically burning hell, devastating damage, and great ammo effeciency. The miniguns single target damage is much higher, but the insane resistances and armor on bigger targets take away from the weapons primary strength, combine this with terrible ammo eco (compared to the autocannon) and the fact that the balance between single target and AOE is skewed heavily towards AOE with increasing hazard level, there is no real competition. As of right now, there is no reason to ever pick the minigun if you've got either carpet bomber or splinter shells for the autocannon, you just need a high damage secondary, leadspray-BRT/Six shooter BD.

This is really a problem that stems from GSG's design philosophy on gunner primaries, they are too similar and therefore compete with each other on same niches. Is this just how the gun works? Is it objectively worse than the autocannon? If so, why would anyone ever use it? Chainsaw Man, Charlotte, Cheat Skill, Cheat Slayer, Cherry and Virgin. So am I doing something wrong? I'm using a minigun build with extremely high DPS build and tons of ammo and I still feel like I'm going through it way too fast with much less to show for it even when I try to shoot conservatively. Black Lightning, Black Monday, Black Rock Shooter, Black Summoner, Blade. However, I would never even think to consider using it on hazard 5, with carpet bomber being significantly better. With cheat engine in that game I averaged about a platinum game every 30 seconds. I mean grinding out 20 levels of a tier gun just so it wont drop anymore. I don't WANT to feel this way, because I enjoy using the minigun, and the lead storm build is very fun. I used cheat engine in mass effect andromeda. Whenever I use it on hazard 4 I feel like I would be contributing a lot more to my team if I were just using carpet bomber. The build does an amazing job killing single targets, but it obviously suffers at killing big swarms. I'm running the lead storm OC with 600 extra ammo, and even with that I go through my ammo like crazy compared to the autocannon. Swap to the main branch and your progress will be normal. I feel like it's extremely ammo inefficient. The cheats are there so if someone with hundreds of hours wants to try something released on the experimental, they don't have to grind it all again. I've recently started using the minigun as a change of pace, and while I kind of enjoy it just because of the difference, I really hate its downsides. It has trouble dealing with larger enemies, but why does that matter if you can kill literally everything else, leaving praetorians and oppressors for your teammates? Plus, you can take elephant rounds to snipe wardens/menaces, or lead spray to rip praetorians/oppressors apart in a few shots. It rips entire swarms apart in seconds, it has amazing ammo economy, and it feels great. My gunner is almost silver 2, so I've played him a fair bit, but most of it has been with carpet bomber, which I'm in love with.
